Wintel Systems Administrator

Job Description:


This role is performed by technical professionals who specialize in providing perform enterprise services to clients on hardware and software components for Windows servers. Activities include operation and maintenance of Windows operating systems, storage and backup solutions, antivirus servers. These servers are installed with middleware applications, various database technologies, high availability solutions and load balancing.

Job responsibilities for this role includes, but are not limited to, the following: operation and maintenance of operating systems and platform support, database administration, capacity planning, performance management, security compliance. Support is also provided for systems management tools which monitor the operational status of the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• System installation, configurations and testing for Windows Server OS ranging from NT, Win2K & Win2003
• Systems upgrading;
• Perform systems change requests;
• Security hardening and patching according to client or client’s security policies;
• Systems administration, maintenance, backup/restore, performance tuning;
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation;
• Handle 3rd level escalation from Helpdesk or deskside team;
• Coordinate with external parties and customers for problem resolution;
• Troubleshoot server related problems to restore services to meet stated SLA/SLO.

Primary Skills Required:

• Diploma/ Degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related field;
• At least 3 years of proven track records in setup, support and troubleshooting in Windows Server OS ranging from NT, Win2K & Win2003 ;
• At least 1 year of experience in MS Active Directory & MS Clustering;
• Experienced in other OS related topics eg. DHCP, DNS, Proxy etc ;

Unix Systems Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

• Install & setup the server operating system AIX, Sun Solaris, HP-UX, Linux and operating system utilities.
• Monitor and analyse server utilisation, availability and traffic.
• Add, change, delete or revoke Userid's that access operating systems and/or subsystems using access control software as per established security standards
• Manage, via change control, the operating system configuration and validate integrity of system configuration files
• Perform problem determination and resolution and report on outcome of troubleshooting
• Perform and schedule daily operation tasks, e.g. Security log review.
• Evaluate security advisories, assign a risk value and complete APAR in the time frame appropriate to the rating. (incl. arranging downtime to apply fixes, perform backup, download fixes)

• Periodically conduct manual and automatic health checks and create & evaluate Health Check Reports
• Provide analysis of system performance and capacity trends and make recommendations
• Provide system administration and operational support for high availability clusters (e.g.,AIX HACMP, Veritas Clustering, HP Service Guard)
• Provide administration and operational support for OS bundled software (e.g. sendmail, ssh, etc), external storage (e.g. ESS, FastT, etc) and SAN

Primary Skills Required:

Network Specialist

Requirements

Generally, 2 years of satisfactory performance in related area, and approximately 4 years of job experience to date. Experience should include exposure to commercial, administrative or government environments.

• Minimum 4 years of job experience to date in networking

Requirements

-          Around 5 years or more in network administration experience.

Clearcase Engineer *

Requirements

-          Minimum 3 years of experience in HP-Unix (version 11) and Linux (Linux SUSE9 and SLED10) system support

-          Minimum 1 year of experience in IBM Rational Clearcase Administration and Clearcase Multisite (not using CC application)

Wintel Specialist

Job Description

ˇ    Work within a team environment to ensure 24x7 availability of WINTEL servers with significant business or IT impact, handling server OS installations, incidents, data analysis, security, performance, and standards compliance issues.
ˇ    Administer and maintain WINTEL server, OS for Production, Internet and Intranet services
ˇ    Troubleshooting performance issues, repairing system software and troubleshooting OS configuration and hardware failures

Computer Operator

Responsibilities:

ˇ   Perform Data Centre Operations which includes batch processing, backups and recovery

Onsite Technical Support

The On-site Technical Support will provide the necessary desk-side assistance to the end-users. He/She will take on calls, which the helpdesk could not resolve over the telephone or a task that specifically required a desk-side assistance. He/She will perform the Problem Determination/Problem Source Identification (PD/PSI).

The Onsite Technical Support must meet the following requisites:
